Job Description

The Blanket Fort Club Ltd is a pioneering theatre company dedicated to creating immersive, sensory, and accessible theatre experiences for children and young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Our mission is to offer innovative, multi-sensory experiences that foster creativity, connection, and emotional growth, allowing children to engage with the arts in a safe and supportive environment. We are passionate about breaking down barriers in the arts and ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities, have access to transformative cultural experiences.

As we expand and develop our impact, we are seeking new trustees to join our Board. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the arts, accessibility, and inclusive education, and who can bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives to our governance.

Job Requirements

We're looking for trustees with enthusiasm, great ideas and problem solving skills to help us shape our future. We're keen to hear from people with experience in finance, HR, digital/marketing, law, or fundraising, though passion for the arts and commitment to accessibility are more important than your experience.

Trustees serve a 3-year term and attend 4 meetings a year. This is a voluntary position with reasonable expenses to be reimbursed.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall governance of the company, the Board of Trustees will make decisions about the company's direction, mission, policies, and strategy. They work collectively as a board and make decisions at formal board meetings, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, and supporting the staff in the execution of the charity's mission and vision. Trustees are expected to ensure that the charity operates in a way that is in line with its values, maintains financial sustainability, and meets its charitable objectives.
